Community guidelines
Local Community works because neighbours trust each other. These rules apply to every post, message, Space and event.
Be helpful
Keep posts and conversations constructive, even when opinions differ.
Lead with respect
Remember that your neighbours on Local Community are part of your offline community, too.
Do no harm
Don't do anything that could hurt a neighbour or put them in danger.
All are welcome
Racism, hateful language and discrimination are not allowed.
Be a good neighbour
- Be kind and respectful, even when you disagree.
- No harassment, bullying, threats, hate or discrimination.
- No scams, spam, chain messages or selling where it isn't allowed.
- Only give away things that are yours, and describe them honestly.
- Keep it local and relevant to your community.
Keep everyone's privacy
- Never post anyone's address, including your own. Use the public hand-over spots and share details in private chat.
- Don't share other people's photos or personal details without asking them.
- What's said in a chat stays in that chat.
Give-aways and tokens
- Only apply for things you genuinely need and can collect.
- If you can't make a collection, say so in good time. Missed collections go on your private record.
- Tokens are for applying, never for selling or trading.
Businesses
Businesses post as themselves, with the Business badge, and within their weekly allowance. Free offers for the community are checked by the community's admins.
Not allowed at all
- Weapons, drugs, alcohol, tobacco, medicines, live animals, counterfeit or stolen goods, or anything illegal.
- Adult content, or anything aimed at children that isn't appropriate.
If something's wrong
Use Report on the post or person. Your community's admins check it and can remove posts or people. Repeated or serious breaches can mean losing your account. You can also contact us.
