Staying safe
Most hand-overs and meetups are simple and friendly. These habits keep them that way.
Meeting up
- Meet at a public hand-over spot, in daylight if you can.
- Use "Let a friend know" when you arrange a meetup, so someone knows where you are.
- Take someone with you for bigger items or if you feel unsure.
- Trust your instincts. It's always fine to cancel.
Protecting yourself
- Keep your address off the board. Share it only in private chat, and only if you're comfortable.
- Never send money, bank details or codes to anyone you meet through the app.
- Look for the Trusted badge: it means someone has a record of kept collections.
Looking after someone
If you use Look after someone, choose the neighbours who check in carefully, and keep the private page link to yourself.
If something goes wrong
If anyone is in danger, call 999. For anything else, use Report in the app or contact us, and block the person if you need to.
